In observance of Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples’ Day, the LRTA will run on a Saturday schedule on Monday October 12, 2026.

The LRTA Announces The Current Fare Free Program Has Been Extended Through July 1, 2027 for Fixed Bus Routes and Road Runner. The LRTA wants to Thank Governor Maura Healey and Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, as well as the Massachusetts State Legislature for funding this Fare Free Transportation Program that will greatly benefit our communities.

The LRTA, with assistance from Nelson Nygaard, is undertaking a Service Review of our bus routes. In April, an online survey and pop-up event ay Gallagher Terminal will be available for people who would like to give feedback on proposals for changes to existing routes. The LRTA has completed an update to our Comprehensive Regional Transit Plan. The plan shapes and guides the region’s transit priorities of over the next five years focusing on connectivity, safety, and performance to improve mobility for residents living, working and playing in the greater Lowell area. Management & Union, Drivers, Dispatchers, Mechanics and Service Crew are hosting a Toy Drive. Our Goal is to Fill a Bus With Toys to benefit The Lowell Police Department. For the safety of the children and the drivers during Halloween Trick-or-Treating Hours Route #2 Belvidere will end at Cawley Stadium on the following times: 5:45 pm 6:20 pm 6:50 pm Have a safe and happy Halloween!
