NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETINGS AND COMMENT OPPORTUNITY: Draft FFY 2021 Unified Planning Work Program and the Draft FFY 2020 Coordinated Human Services Transportation Plan

The Northern Middlesex Metropolitan Planning Organization (NMMPO) has released for public comment the draft FFY 2021 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) and the draft 2020 Coordinated Human Services Transportation Plan (CHSTP). The UPWP outlines activities to be undertaken by MPO staff over the next federal fiscal year. The CHSTP lays out strategies to address transportation needs for older adults and disabled residents, through enhanced coordination of existing transportation services in the region. Copies of both draft documents can be found at www.nmcog.org.

Two virtual public meetings are scheduled: (1) A Zoom public meeting to receive comments on the draft UPWP and CHSTP will be held on June 9, 2020 at 5:30 PM. Alternatively, comments may be submitted by phone at (978) 454-8021, ext. 121, by email: jhoward@nmcog.org or by U.S. mail addressed to NMCOG, 40 Church Street, Suite 200, Lowell MA 01852. The public comment period ends June 19, 2020; (2) A Zoom meeting of the NMMPO will be held on June 24, 2020 at 2:00 PM to consider endorsement of the above documents. The NMMPO’s public participation process satisfies the LRTA’s public participation requirements for the program of projects.

Notice: Due to the ongoing state of emergency, the above meetings will be held virtually via the Zoom platform. Information about accessing the meetings will be posted at www.nmcog.org. You can also get information on meeting access by calling 978-454-8021, ext. 121 or by emailing jhoward@nmcog.org. The NMMPO provides reasonable accommodations and/or language assistance free of charge upon request (including but not limited to interpreters in American Sign Language and languages other than English, open or closed captioning for videos, assistive listening devices and alternate material formats), as available. For assistance, please contact Justin Howard at (978) 454-8021, ext. 121 or at jhoward@nmcog.org. Requests should be made as soon as possible for services requiring advanced arrangements, including sign language, CART or language translation or interpretation.
