LRTA Disinfecting Routine & Schedule for Coronavirus – COVID-19

Purpose

This guidance is intended to address disinfecting procedures for the Lowell Regional Transit Authority’s facilities and equipment.

Gallagher Terminal

Responsibility: Maintenance Manager and security/maintenance staff

1) Install hand sanitizer stations and maintain proper levels of hand sanitizer in lobby and on third floor waiting area

2) Wednesday and Saturday nights treat all surfaces, in lntermodal center, Gallagher Terminal and lobby with electrostatic machine and chlorinated tabs.

3) Daily:

Disinfect touch points: counters, restrooms, door handles, elevators & railings (3 times each day).
Disinfect intermodal center bus shelters (3 times each day).
Disinfect catwalk and train platform with electrostatic mister.
Disinfect floors and stairs (2 times each day)

4) Weekly:

Disinfect all office space once per week with electrostatic mister. To include:

a) RoadRunner Offices
b) Parking and Security Office
c) Guard Break Room
d) Administrative Office

Disinfect parking booths with electrostatic mister, treat daily with Lysol
Disinfect work trucks once per week with Lysol

5) Disinfect return air ducts twice per week.

North Billerica

Responsibility: Security/maintenance staff

1) Daily, disinfect touch points: counters, restrooms, door handles and railings.
2) Daily, disinfect each honor box.

Fixed Route

Responsibility: FR Maintenance Manager and staff

Revenue Vehicles

1) Disinfect all buses once per day with electrostatic mister or disinfectant sprayer.

• Touch points: Hard surfaces, seats, grab rails, lifts and driver’s area.

2) All Buses have been supplied with disinfecting Lysol spray.

3) Drivers are treating their bus with Lysol spray, as needed, during the day.

Fixed Route Facilities

Daily, disinfect dispatch, driver’s cafeteria, maintenance cafeteria, bathrooms, hallways, administrative office space and drivers lounge.

• Touch points: Hard surfaces, counters, restrooms, door handles and railings.

Road Runner

Responsibility: RR Maintenance Manager and staff

1) Disinfect all minibuses once per day with electrostatic mister or disinfectant sprayer.

• Touch points: Hard surfaces, seats, grab rails, lifts and driver’s area.

2) All minibuses have been supplied with rubber gloves, Lysol spray and hand sanitizer.

3) Drivers are treating their bus with Lysol spray, as needed, during the day.

4) Coordinate and train COA drivers on use and frequency of disinfecting vehicles on-site or at their location.

Regular Update Meetings

LRTA is conducting daily manager’s meetings and calls regarding COVID-19 and operations, service planning activities which will continue throughout the crisis.
