Junior Fleet Mechanic / Driver

Job Description

Lowell Transit Management is seeking a Junior Fleet Mechanic/Technician with an automotive maintenance background. Paratransit vehicle maintenance experience preferred but not required.  Prior experience in vehicle maintenance and repair industry is required. Technician will perform preventive and routine maintenance and repairs on all fleet vehicles and shop equipment. Technician will also be trained to drive paratransit vehicles.

Technician must be able to pass a drug/alcohol screening, pass a  background check, submit to random drug/alcohol testing, be 21 years of age, have and maintain a clean driving record, pass and maintain DOT physical, possess a High School diploma or equivalent, be willing to become ASE certified, and able to lift up to 70 pounds.  Technician must have own tools.

Job Description

Lowell Transit Management Corporation is seeking a Dispatcher who works to direct the day-to-day route operations and report to Dispatch Supervisors. Work is done in compliance with the procedures defined by the client and in conformance with company policies and procedures. His/her duties involve daily communication and interaction with drivers and clients. He/she must also organize and conduct activities to assure safe, cost-effective, on-time operating performance. Tracks and reports sign-in/sign-out times, assures routes are timely, and communicates service issues to the Dispatch Supervisors and Managers as appropriate.

Talent Requirements:

  • One (1) year previous Dispatcher experience preferred
  • Two (2) years of Customer Service experience is preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with scheduling and dispatching software a plus
  • Requires high performance of both written and oral communication
  • MS Office & computer skills
  • Knowledge of the service area is a plus
